Played soccer for Lakemba Sports Club when he was a child
In 1997, he begged his parents to take him to England to play professionally.
His Australia debut was against South Africa in June 2004 

Achievements
Named Oceania Footballer of the Year for 2004
First Australian to ever score in a World Cup Finals game
Australia's first Man of the Match at a World Cup.
Plays for the Australia national team and Everton
Educated at Bexley North Public School and Kingsgrove North High School
